Dr. James King, President and co-founder of AVANT Group, Inc., holds geological and hydrogeological degrees from Wittenberg University (A.B.), the University of Toledo (M.S.), and Indiana University at Bloomington (Ph.D.). Dr. King has been a technical consultant for over years, specializing in quantitative hydrogeologic analysis, hydrologic modeling and environmental transport, and subsurface attenuation of contaminants. His consulting experience encompasses health-based risk assessments; studies to define the extent and transport of soil and ground-water contamination by chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons, heavy metals, and inorganic compounds; conceptual design of soil and ground-water remediation systems; hydrogeologic and geochemical evaluations of disposal sites for hazardous, coal-combustion, and municipal solid wastes; mine and wetland hydrology studies; and landfill and mine permitting. Dr. King holds professional registrations and certifications in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee and is endorsed as a Certified Professional Geologist by the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) and as a Professional Hydrogeologist by the American Institute of Hydrology (AIH).

Mark LeMay, Vice President and co-founder of AVANT Group, Inc., holds a BSCE degree from Lawrence Institute of Technology and has over 25 years of environmental, construction, and geotechnical experience that includes subsurface investigations; site assessments; CERCLA and RCRA investigations, corrective actions, closures, and document preparation; spill response; over 200 contamination investigations, closures, and remediations; and soil and ground-water remedial design and construction. Mr. LeMay is the Project Manager for many sites that are active participants in Indiana's Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP), several of which involve chlorinated compounds and risk assessments. Mr. LeMay is certified in Michigan as a Professional UST Consultant for assessments, feasibility studies, and remediation of contaminated soil and ground water.

Richard Meinholz, Environmental Manager, has over 19 years of experience in industrial wastewater pretreatment and environmental engineering. He has extensive experience in design, installation, and construction management of industrial wastewater pretreatment systems. Mr. Meinholz is certified by the states of Indiana and Wisconsin as an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator and has extensive experience in technical data collection and evaluation for industrial projects, and working with the local, state, and federal pretreatment regulations. Mr. Meinholz has assisted numerous industrial clients regarding compliance issues with storm water discharge regulations and preparation of storm water pollution prevention plans, as well as preparation of other regulatory compliance plans regarding spill control and countermeasure plans, baseline monitoring reports, and emergency response plans.

Neal Johnson, Senior Geologist and Project Manager, holds BS and MS degrees in geology and hydrogeology from Indiana University (Bloomington) and has pursued additional graduate work in hydrogeology at the University of Houston. Mr. Johnson has 20 years of professional experience and has been an environmental consultant since 1991. His specialties include subsurface field studies, Phase I site assessments, coordination of comprehensive ground-water monitoring projects, environmental data reduction and analysis, asbestos inspections for site assessments and structure demolitions, and preparation of storm-water pollution-prevention plans. Mr. Johnson is a Licensed Professional Geologist in Indiana and Illinois, Licensed Water Well Driller, Certified Asbestos Inspector in Indiana, and holds an Indiana Underground Storage Tank certification for UST removals and closures.

Mark Anderson, Senior Geologist and Project Manager, holds a Bachelor's degree in biology and geology from Ball State University and completed graduate courses in geology at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. Mr. Anderson has been active in environmental consulting since 1989. His specialties are Phase I and II site assessments, contamination investigations, and underground storage tanks. Mr. Anderson is a Licensed Professional Geologist in Indiana and is certified for UST closures and removals.

Joseph Hendrickson, P.E., Senior Engineer and Project Manager, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and has seven years of experience in the consulting field. Experience in water and wastewater treatment design and construction (industrial and municipal), water distribution system design and construction, air pollution emission inventories and permitting, storm and sanitary sewer design and construction, combined sewer overflow (CSO) storage, special waste permitting, storm water detention/retention basin design and construction, NPDES permitting, and land application issues. Preparation of various environmental plans including Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Waste Minimization/Pollution Prevention Plans, Contingency Plans, and Facility Response Plans (FRPs). Areas of expertise include: Industrial Wastewater Treatment Design, Storm Sewer System Design, Water Distribution System Design, Storm Water Detention/Retention Basin Design, Construction Management, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans, Storm Water Sampling, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans and Emergency Contingency Plans.

 

Rayna S. Kaczmarczyk

Rayna Kaczmarczyk, Business Development Associate, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental and Hazardous Materials Management from the University of Findlay (Findlay, Ohio). She is currently pursuing her Masters in the same discipline. Recently, Rayna served as an associate in Health & Safety Services with The American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana. In addition to her duties in sales and marketing, Rayna is also certified as a First Aid, CPR, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) instructor.
